I host an instance of Wallabag. Except from the fact it's an open source software, in my experience Wallabag is not very well documented (and sometime hard to install), buggy (especially the interface), not always easy to use and has a could-be-better ecosystem (especially on iOS).

  • The official Wallabag (v2) app is basically unusable, except for the Share sheet
    • Sometimes the Share sheet throws an error while the URL was actually saved
    • Sync is broken if you save a YouTube video (something I do a lot)
  • Fiery Feeds supports Wallabag, it's probably the best option so far
  • The web interface is buggy but OK, at least on an iPad
  • Currently investigating to use Workflow and the add-a-page URL to replace the kind-of-broken Share sheet
  • Use the web interface
  • I use Wallabager on Firefox (also works on Chrome and Opera)
